Susan Sideropoulos: From series star to bestselling author!
The Cologne entertainment landscape has to cope with a new, but only temporary, change. The popular actress, presenter and author Susan Sideropoulos has once again announced her departure from the popular soap opera “Good Times, Bad Times” (GZSZ). After her return as Sarah Elsässer last year, her last appearance will be on April 20, 2023. The actress, who starred as Verena Koch in the series from 2001 to 2011, looks back on her comeback with mixed feelings, which she describes as an emotional journey through time.
With a catalog of successes, Sideropoulos can look back on an impressive career. She became known for her role in the popular series and has not only had soulful appearances in various documentary formats, but also in series and films. As the winner of the RTL dance show “Let’s Dance”, she has also proven her versatility. Her passionate nature and her commitment to social projects, especially as an ambassador for the children's and youth organization “Die Arche”, make her an admired personality.
From the screen to the book
But Sideropoulos is not only present on television. Her books, including the bestsellers “Rosarotes Glück” and “Taking life hard is just too tiring”, show her writer side and express her life wisdom. Her latest work, “Light & Shadow: The Gift of Simultaneity,” is about to be released, and she hopes it brings joy to people.
Sideropoulos also actively uses her platform to spread positive thoughts as a “SinnFluencerin” on social media. Her podcast “LieblingsFrauen” contains exciting interviews with strong personalities and addresses the versatility of women in different situations. Sideropoulos addresses both current topics and personal experiences in order to encourage her audience.
A look at the industry
The German actress is an example of change in the film and television landscape. More and more Actresses over 50 are making a comeback and bringing their life experience and passion into more complex roles. As Sideropoulos shows, women active in entertainment are often also voices for social and political issues. The societal shift toward more age diversity is becoming more and more valued, and Sideropoulos is part of that movement.
Her 30-year relationship with her childhood friend Jakob, with whom she has two sons, reflects the family nature that she values alongside her career. Her traditions and Jewish life in Berlin remain a central part of her life, which gives her the necessary grounding in her career.
Although Sideropoulos has now played her last role in GZSZ, she has already indicated that she can imagine returning to the role again one day. The film and television world still has a lot to expect from her, and her fans have reason to hope that she continues to tell inspiring stories.
