Farewell to Aunt Elke: 40 years full of love in Carmzow's daycare center!

June 13, 2025 was a very special day in the “Kastanienstübchen” village daycare center in Carmzow. Long-time educator Elke Reichow celebrated her farewell after over 40 years in childcare. How NNN reports, the celebration was a warm surprise for Elke, who was accompanied by former children and their parents. The kindergarten children sang a song and presented an important memento: a garden bench with the children's handprints.

Elke Reichow, who has been working in child care since 1981, never wanted to work anywhere else. She experienced many ups and downs during her time at the daycare center and influenced the lives of countless children, who affectionately call her “Aunt Elke” to this day. Mayor Jörn Muranko, himself a former visitor to the daycare center, would do everything in his power to ensure that the spirit of Elke's work lives on in the new management. Vanessa Glöde, who takes on the role of daycare director, has decided to continue the traditions and at the same time bring a breath of fresh air into the daycare center.

A farewell with colorful memories

Farewell celebrations took place not only in Carmzow. The Maxi children also had an exciting farewell party at the Arche Noah daycare center in Hornberg. How Noah's Ark daycare center describes, the future school starters proudly marched in to lively music and experienced a colorful day with soap bubbles, homemade rainbows and warm wishes for the upcoming start of school.

Rituals such as playing the “expulsion” game and writing wish cards for school were part of this emotional transition. Children and educators worked together on a program that warmed the heart, from dance to singing to a self-written farewell song. The joy, but also the regret, of having to say goodbye to friends and teachers was reflected in the beaming faces and occasional tears.
