Corona expert Lausen: Bergamo numbers are shocking – 6,000 deaths counted!

In the small village church on the B109, as part of the “Malchower Format” series of events, Tom Lausen spoke impressively about his research into the corona pandemic. On July 18, 2025, over 120 listeners gathered to follow the data analyst and his insights into dealing with the pandemic. Lausen, who had already given a lecture there in October 2024 at the invitation of Pastor Thomas Dietz, made it clear that he was trying to be more objective in the debate about Corona. He examined many numbers in order to question or refute current theories.

A central role in Lausen's lecture was played by his personal trip to Bergamo, where he and his team checked mortality during the Corona period. He responsibly counted the graves in 27 cemeteries and confirmed that there were indeed over 6,000 dead in the Italian city. He arrived at this number based on his own surveys and a comparison of death data with those of the EU statistics office Eurostat, as German death data was not available. Lausen contacted the state statistical offices directly, and some of them were helpful.

Structural problems and political responsibility

The information that Lausen compiled was also presented in the European Parliament. On May 7, 2025, he presented his findings there at the invitation of the “Patriots for Europe” faction, which was initiated by Gerald Hauser (FPÖ) and Christine Anderson (AfD). Lausen stated that the data from Bergamo should under no circumstances be used as a serious basis for political decisions. He analyzed what he described as incomplete reporting and selective communication of coronavirus death numbers and criticized the distrust these practices fueled among the population.

Its goal is to thoroughly clarify the causes of the high mortality during the pandemic. In particular, he questions whether this was caused by the virus itself, the vaccinations, the measures taken or the hospital treatments. He notes that many old people died during the pandemic, which he views critically, especially with regard to the treatment of this vulnerable group.

Controversies surrounding vaccinations and lack of transparency

Lausen also expressed concerns about the vaccines. Despite the fact that the first Moderna vaccine was developed on January 13, 2020, mortality continued to increase even after vaccinations. In particular, the high death rate at Christmas 2022, even though booster vaccinations were widespread, makes him doubt the effectiveness of the vaccination campaigns.

His initiative to raise awareness and the demand for more transparency runs through all of his work. He emphasizes that official, official figures should be used to detect irregularities. This is all the more so because the Paul Ehrlich Institute did not clearly communicate any vaccination side effects that were known early on. Last but not least, Lausen is also concerned about the potential influence of international organizations on national health policies, which is becoming more explosive in the current political debate about the WHO pandemic treaty.

Before his upcoming appearance in the investigative committee of the Thuringian state parliament on August 19th, in which he will examine the delicate Corona issue with other experts, the discussion about coming to terms with the Corona pandemic remains exciting. Lausen will insist on the core thesis that comprehensive transparency and a pluralistic information culture are essential to regain the trust of the population.

The data collected on average excess mortality during the corona pandemic shows that there were significant differences in certain periods, such as from 2021 to 2022. According to Statista, excess mortality has been dramatic in the hardest-hit countries worldwide, showing how crucial more honest communication about the pandemic is.

Lausen urgently demands that political decision-makers, the media and medical institutions have a duty to ensure an objective discussion and thus take an important step in the right direction.
