Scary Halloween night in Eldorado: Children fear zombies and witches!

Scary times in the western town of Eldorado in Templin! On November 3, 2025, the idyllic western town celebrated an atmospheric Halloween party that thrilled young and old. The employees greeted the guests with eerie laughter, conjuring up an eerie atmosphere right from the start. The performances by Gero Bergmann and Birger Markuse, who appeared as stilt runners from the “Rumpelmärchen” theater ensemble and captivated the audience, were particularly impressive.

The program had a lot to offer the young guests: fairy tales such as “The Golden Goose” and “The Cold Heart” were presented. Moderator Jörg Schulz, who dressed up as a great sorcerer, needed half an hour to put on his elaborate costume. Among the celebrants was his son Niclas, who took on the role of a raven and thus perfectly fit into the Halloween atmosphere. Frank Tiesner also appeared as the humorous gravedigger Henry and jokingly threatened punishment for bad children.

Diverse costumes and creative ideas

Kerstin Ricklefs, who came from Schleswig-Holstein and proudly presented the witch dress she put together herself, was particularly eye-catching. She was accompanied by Nick Bremer, who appeared as the Joker, and his son Yarik, who dressed as a vampire. Ingo Ehlers, who appeared as a ghost hunter, is part of the Ghostbusters Berlin and also created a spooky atmosphere. Alina Liebrecht from Rostock stood out with her self-created costume as a “dark dragon”.

Halloween parties are very popular in Templin. Jeannine Lech and Marc Römer visited the event for the fifth time and impressed with their homemade costumes. Theme park manager Bianca Gartz also did her best and appeared as “Death”. Local partners took care of the physical well-being, including the Rewe market, which provided support with sweets.

More highlights and views

The event was part of the wide range of events in the region, which also included a Halloween party in the Templin Citizens' Garden. Here the children could have fun shooting at the goal wall and eating stick cakes. The Multicultural Center (MKC) also showed the children's film “Everything Full of Monsters”, where the little ones could even have their make-up applied beforehand.

The western town of Eldorado has much more to offer: a line dancing event is coming up soon, followed by the Christmas gala on December 6th. There is great anticipation as next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the theme park.

Lest we forget the deep cultural significance of Halloween, the custom is often associated with the Celtic festival of Samhain, celebrated on the eve of All Saints' Day, November 1st. The origins include the belief that the souls of the deceased are present on this night, which resulted in veiled celebrations and candy distribution. This historical context can also be found in various discourses about the celebrations, as Bibleinfo shows.

The Halloween celebrations in Templin show that this custom has many facets today and not only brings spooky things, but also joy and community. Maybe it's time to consider, beyond the sweets, what we want to take away from this tradition in the future - spooky, funny or just festive?
