New café Stadtmauereck” in the Uckermark: enjoyment meets cosiness!
The new café “Stadtmauereck” recently opened its doors on Werderstrasse and is attracting the attention of connoisseurs and coffee lovers. In the shadow of the historic city wall, Jana Börner, a former rehabilitation sports trainer with extensive experience in the catering industry, made her dream come true. Together with their partner, they remodeled and furnished the premises in just two weeks. The operator of the former café was previously looking for a new tenant - an opportunity that the two quickly seized. “There was something going on,” says Jana, who hopes that her shop will soon establish itself.
The “Stadtmauereck” not only offers a rich breakfast menu, but also delicious lunch snacks, coffee and cake. With 25 seats, it is not only a cozy retreat, but also a venue for readings and music events. A reading is planned for the 4th Advent to bring the local community together. The café is open from Saturday to Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. At the beginning, Jana will run the café with the support of her family, which is often the key to success in the catering industry.
Special features and atmosphere
Similar to that Old Town Café Templin, which attaches great importance to a pleasant feel-good atmosphere, Jana has also created a cozy ambience. Old-fashioned crockery and lovingly selected furniture invite guests to linger. The winter months also offer the opportunity to offer special events suitable for different occasions - be it a lunch, a birthday breakfast or just a social gathering with friends.
Gastronomy has a high status in Germany and is an important economic factor. Loud Statista The industry recently generated over 115 billion euros and employed around 1.1 million people subject to social security contributions. The food-based gastronomy is particularly popular. The numbers show that the demand for cafés and similar establishments is also trending, which gives Jana and her partner the courage to put their plan into action.
Challenges and opportunities
But the catering industry is not without its challenges. After the corona pandemic, many companies are looking for new ways to assert themselves in the market. Digitalization and sustainability play an important role. The trend towards meat-free and vegan offerings shows that interest in a conscious diet is growing. Jana also has a good knack for running her café in a future-oriented manner.
With the “Stadtmauereck” she not only wants to create a place for friendly encounters, but also promote local culture and convey a feeling of togetherness. The future looks bright and we look forward to seeing how this small, fine café establishes itself in Cologne's dining scene!
