Germany provides patriot systems and ammunition for freedom of Ukraine!

On July 21, 2025, Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced extended support for Ukraine. This comes at a time when Ukraine suffers massive air raids from Russia. Pistorius made it clear that the Bundeswehr will provide five urgently needed patriot systems to strengthen the Ukrainian defense efforts. This decision will be coordinated with international partners in the coming days, such as Two of the systems come from the Bundeswehr inventory, while Norway contributes a third patriot system. Germany will also take over the financing of these systems, but the lack of costs are to be borne by NATO partners. This wants to ensure that the support will arrive promptly with the Ukrainian armed forces and can be used effectively.

coordination and collaboration

An expert group will meet this week to ensure the quickly delivery of the patriot systems. While Pistorius emphasized that Germany will provide Ukraine with weapon -capable support, it is also planned to finance far -reaching drones that are to be produced in Ukraine. These help to further expand the country's independent defense ability, reports Deutschlandfunk

The costs for delivery to Kiev are borne by the European countries in accordance with an agreement between Germany and the USA. In addition, Germany announced that the first long -range missiles will be delivered to the Ukrainian armed forces in the next few days. These new weapons should be able to penetrate deeper into Russian territory and to lead targeted attacks on Russian planes, drones and rockets.

In this critical phase of defense, the solidarity of the international partners is of crucial importance. The previous support has already included several patriot systems that were delivered from Germany to Ukraine, and another step in this commitment is now undertaken. It remains to be seen how quickly the new systems can be delivered and what other measures the NATO partners will take to support Ukraine.
