Ipfmess fan club: Passion connects Bopfingen in blue shirts!

Bopfingen, Deutschland - The Ipfmess fan club in Bopfingen stands for community and passion. The club was founded in 2011 as a spontaneous idea during the IPF fair, and is now an integral part of cultural activities in Bopfingen. The founding members, including the men's ballet of the Burgnars, wore yellow ballet shirts at the beginning. Timo Lenz then raised the idea of designing blue T-shirts with the imprint "Ipfmess fan club". Today the club has around 60 members, including both men and women from the region.

Tobias Kaiser, who has been the chairman since it was founded, leads the team, while Mayor Dr. Gunter Bühler supports the community as the most prominent member. The conditions for joining are just as original as the history of the club: new members have to provide the sausages in the traditional white sausage breakfast. The fan club is active all year round, not only during the IPF fair, but also at events such as the Nikolausmarkt, the summer stage and rod festival. In contrast to earlier years, when the club organized the traditional costumes at rod festival, this is no longer offered.

activities and commitment

In addition to the festive events, the fan club is known for its beverage stand at the Nikolausmarkt and the organization of excursions. Trips in the Europapark and bike tours will be on the program every year. In addition, the fan club takes part in the large parade to the Ipfmesse with a decorated car, which invigorates the city every July in summer. The car is rebuilt every year and requires an exemption because it is eight centimeters too wide.

For the 2025 IPFMESS, the club has designed new T-shirts, which is designed by Isabelle Ott. These T-shirts cost 15 euros and can be purchased from Trachten fashion Silvia in Neresheim from June 21st and on June 28th during the rod festival. In the past, T-shirts are often visible during the Ipfmesse and are very popular.

The Ipfmesse - a historical event

The IPF fair itself is celebrated as one of the most important events in Bopfingen and attracts numerous visitors every year. It takes place around the first weekend in July and lasts over five days. Originally, the tradition of the fair goes back to 1812 when King Frederick I of Württemberg granted the Bopfingers permission for a fair. The central location of the festival, the IPF, is a 668 meter high local mountain and plays an important role in the event.

The fair offers more than 30 showmen and over 200 market feeders, beer gardens, a marquee and a beer village. The traditional beer tapping, large fireworks, as well as a move and an ecumenical service are fixed components, all of which contribute to the determination. Over the years, the Ipfmesse has developed from an agricultural festival into an attractive event that not only invites you to shop, but also serves as a platform for social interactions and celebrations.
