25 years of children's and youth theater: A festival of imagination in Richtenberg!

The Richtenberg Children's and Youth Theater is celebrating a very special anniversary this year: For 25 years, the committed troupe has not only been bringing stories to the stage, but also delighting young and old with cultural offerings in picturesque Richtenberg. With around 20 active amateur actors and the support of 10 adults and numerous families, a new play will be performed this year that continues the theater's tradition.

Loud NDR The anniversary piece “How it all began” will be presented on September 26th at 8 p.m. in the Kulturhaus in Richtenberg, further performances will follow on September 27th at 8 p.m. and on September 28th at 3 p.m. The stories from the Helmerich saga that have been told since 2001 have evolved steadily over the years, starting with the first performance, which captivated 120 spectators. Around 9,000 people have now attended these unique performances.

Culturally rich roots

Richtenberg has a long tradition of cultural events that run through the city park, where other groups, such as the folk dance group, also find their place. The Baltic Sea newspaper reports on the simple backdrops of the first performances and the voluntary commitment that makes the children's and youth theater so special. With the passionate support of 100 participants in actor, technician and set construction roles, theater life comes to life.

This year's piece focuses on the story of a girl who was transformed into a swan and the helpful Secret Santa. This story, which combines mythical creatures and a true historical core, promises to be a real treat for viewers. Many people fondly remember the director Angelika Meier and narrator Heidi Sasse, who have been part of this wonderful journey since the theater's beginnings.

A look into the future

Christine Rudolph, vice chair of the cultural meeting, highlights the modern costumes and technical equipment that help attract children and families. It is also a way to present the local history in a charming and exciting way - with mystical elements that stimulate the imagination, such as trolls and water drops. To mark the anniversary, a book with the best stories will be published, a real treat for all theater lovers big and small.

The culture makers in Richtenberg want to continue to grow and hope for a permanent venue behind the cultural center. The need for supporters and sponsors is great, because in such a lively cultural environment like ours it is important to maintain traditions and provide new impulses. The cultural offerings, which range from the Baltic Sea to the lake district, make Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania a real experience, which is reflected in the colorful landscape of the open-air stages and events in the region auf-nach-mv.de describes.

Every audience member is more than welcome to experience the magic of theater. Be there when the story of Helmerich and his adventures continues and the tradition of the Richtenberg children's and youth theater remains alive!
