Discover the organic countryside: 62 farms invite you to join in!
On September 20, 2025, the organic country party in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will once again open the doors of 62 organic farms to anyone interested. An exciting event that not only offers insights into the diverse world of organic farming, but also aims to break down prejudices. The word has long since gotten around that organic food is very popular, even if it sometimes fails because of the pricing. Loud NDR Sales figures have increased noticeably in recent years, but certain inhibitions remain.
The organic country tour is a feast for the senses, where visitors have the chance to become active themselves. They can watch the cultivation of grain, vegetables or fruit and even try out what farmers do. In addition to these practical insights, the production of bread, oil, cheese and honey will also be demonstrated. The fact that this event is not just about theory, but also about participation, makes it particularly attractive.
A celebration for the whole family
The organic country party is organized by the environmental association BUND Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture with 5,000 euros. The event is held as part of the nationwide Climate Adaptation Week, which adds an additional sustainable aspect. Agriculture Minister Till Backhaus emphasizes how important it is to adapt agriculture to the growing challenges posed by extreme weather events.
The impressive figures show how important this industry is for the region: More than 25% of the farms in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are organic farms, which together cultivate over 200,000 hectares. This represents an impressive 16% of the total agricultural area. The importance of these farms for regional added value and strengthening rural areas should not be underestimated.
Insights through images and film
In order to visually present the diversity and charm of the organic countryside, BUND has produced an image film. Filmmaker Ulrich Koglin from TV-Film-Nord provides exciting insights into the participating farms in 4 minutes and 26 seconds. Master baker Fries, for example, describes the Hoffest as a real folk festival that attracts more than 3,000 visitors. Heiko Gluth and Heike Stach provide fascinating insights into the ecological husbandry of their Angus cattle and the diverse offerings of their Naturland farm. Johannes Walzer also explains the principle of solidarity agriculture.
Dr. Burkhard Roloff, coordinator of the organic land party, also describes the event as a clear answer to the challenges of globalization. This is an approach that is highly regarded at a time when many consumers are increasingly placing more value on natural products. Finally, more and more people in the EU are buying products made with ecological practices and natural processes, such as European Parliament shows.
The Bio-Landpartie is much more than just a marketplace for organic food. It is a living symbol of the importance of organic farming and promotes awareness of high-quality, sustainable products in the region. Visit this inspiring event, get to know the people and their stories and be inspired by the diversity of organic farming methods!
