Stralsund University invites you to diversity: International Days start!
The Stralsund University of Applied Sciences is transforming itself into an international exchange platform as it invites you to the second “International Days” today. Around 20 universities from Europe and South America are represented to inspire students, university employees and interested pupils. Caroline Neumann, head of the International Office, is pleased with the lively participation and the opportunity to give the university and the city a colorful and multicultural touch. NDR reports that the event in Vorpommern-Rügen offers numerous activities, including information stands from the partner universities in the cafeteria forecourt and a series of exciting lectures.
Overall, Stralsund University maintains intensive relationships with around 120 partner universities worldwide. This networking is part of a larger trend in which German universities are increasingly entering into international collaborations to promote transnational education. In 2013, a code for German university projects abroad was adopted, which sets minimum qualitative requirements for academic and ethical standards. The website for international university cooperation provides further information international-hochschulkooperationen.de.
Diverse program
A highlight of the “International Days” is the planned barbecue on Thursday afternoon, which not only promotes exchange between the universities but is also intended as a social event. These types of encounters contribute to the creation of an international network in which students and academics can learn from and exchange ideas.
Stralsund University not only shows its commitment to international education, but also offers a platform to show the diversity and opportunities of studying abroad. The event is open to anyone interested and aims to make the possibilities of international study programs and collaborations tangible. With the assessment that such events make the university and the city more lively, the focus is on enhancing intercultural exchange.
