Mecklenburg Lake District: 1.35 million euros for cultural projects!
A new star in Germany's cultural sky sees the light of day! The Mecklenburg Lake District was selected for the innovative cultural funding program “Aller.Land”. A total of 30 regional projects are funded by the federal government, and the present project “Culture for everyone in Dreistrom.Land” convinced the expert jury. The initiators can look forward to around 1.35 million euros in funding over the next five years Strelitzius reported.
But what exactly does this exciting project entail? The kultur.schule, the central network node of the project, will function as an extracurricular educational and cultural institution with its branches in Altentreptow, Demmin, Malchin and Stavenhagen. A wide variety of offers are provided here that are intended to enliven the local culture.
What is the goal of “Aller.Land”?
The “Aller.Land” program aims to promote the regional anchoring and networking of cultural projects. It aims to strengthen cohesion in rural regions and promote democratic and cultural participation locally. The federal government has budgeted a total of 45 million euros for this, which will be distributed over the next five years. Each of the 30 funded projects receives 1.5 million euros, while the states and municipalities contribute 10 percent co-financing federalgovernment.de reported.
A central component of the “Culture for Everyone in Dreistrom.Land” project will be the residency program “mein.Block”. Artists move into empty prefabricated apartments and develop participatory projects. The mobile singing project “unser.Chor” and the museum project “unser.Museum” are also on the agenda. The latter aims to make exhibits from the Demmin Regional Museum accessible again.
A look into the future
The personnel structure of the project will be located in the district administration and mainly in the kultur.schule. And the networking? This is supported by an annual specialist day and the establishment of a regional monitoring committee. Over 97 regions developed concepts for cultural projects as part of “Aller.Land” last year, and the projects to be supported are selected by independent expert juries led by cultural manager Hortensia Völckers.
Overall, “Aller.Land” aims to strengthen the voices of local people by creating new, creative spaces of expression and collaboration. With such commitment and the corresponding funding, the Mecklenburg Lake District region can look forward to the next five years with excitement. It seems as if a real “good hand” was required when selecting the projects!
