Invitation to the 100th Green Week: Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is mobilizing!
On November 7th, 2025, only 70 days remain until a very special event that focuses on agriculture and regional products: the 100th Green Week in Berlin. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will be very active as the official country partner for this anniversary and would like to encourage local companies to take part. District Administrator Tino Schomann and Minister of Agriculture Dr. In their appeals, Till Backhaus express the importance of the event for the regional economy and see the opportunity to make the state's strengths visible.
The Green Week, which takes place from January 16th to 25th, 2026, attracts around 300,000 visitors every year and is considered one of the most important consumer trade fairs in Europe. This year Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will be represented with its own state hall for the 25th time. In Hall 5.2b, over 60 companies, associations and regions will present their culinary highlights and regional specialties. A program of music and culture ensures that the performance is an unforgettable experience.
A colorful program awaits the guests
The trade fair promises a diverse entertainment program. Trade fair director Lars Jaeger emphasizes that it's not just about the products, but also about the exchange and networking. Hall 26a will feature historic agricultural vehicles and modern high-tech equipment, while a flower hall will be designed in the style of the 1920s under the motto “Babylon Berlin”. So if you're looking for inspiration, you've come to the right place.
Dr. Backhaus describes the state's participation in Green Week as an efficient investment in the future. The total costs for the partner presence of around one million euros are therefore well spent. He encourages all local companies to get involved: “Take advantage of the opportunity to present your products to a wider public.” Even after the registration deadline, interested companies can still register online or by contacting Robert Hempel. In recent years, numerous companies from northwest Mecklenburg have already made use of this platform.
A look back and into the future
The Green Week has seen a jump in visitor numbers in recent years. Last year there were around 310,000 people, which corresponds to an increase of 13% compared to 2024. A total of around 1,500 exhibitors from home and abroad were represented. These increases show how high the demand is for regional products and innovative companies. Green Week 2026 will provide an excellent opportunity to continue these positive trends.
Essentially, the event aims not only to present the products from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, but also to promote sustainable tourism and cooperation between different actors. While we are looking forward to the trade fair, we can only hope that even more companies will recognize the added value and get involved. Because one thing is clear: your commitment will pay off! Anyone who wants to secure a chance for new collaborations and business ideas should actively participate and use this platform wisely.
So let’s wait and see what the 100th Green Week will bring. What trends and innovations from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania do you think await us there?
