On June 21st and 22nd, 2025, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania invites you to the “MittsommerRemise – Festival of Manor Houses”, an event that focuses on culture and history and opens over 70 listed manor houses and manor houses to visitors. This unique experience promises to provide insights into the region's culinary and cultural treasures and bring to life the fascinating history of these magnificent buildings, which are up to 300 years old. The program includes, among other things, guided tours, sound experiences and exhibitions that will delight both locals and tourists. Again star reports, visitors can also have conversations with the manor house owners and lords of the castle and thus gain very personal access to history.
The event takes place in seven different regions, including Ostseegutsland, Western Pomerania, Peene and Tollensetal, Randowbruch, Gutsland, Parkland and Seenplatte. A total of 75 castles, manor houses and manor houses will open their doors, 12 of which will be taking part in the festival for the first time and will therefore also be presenting new facets of historical architecture. These include Kaeselow Castle west of Schwerin, Levetzow Manor southeast of Wismar and Rattey Castle near Neubrandenburg, which are newcomers to this cultural event.
A diverse program
On Saturday, an impressive 58 stately buildings are available for visitors, who can look forward to numerous programs. From the Gamehl manor house, where romantic carriage rides are offered, to Roggow manor house, which is illuminated with poems in the park - there is something for every taste. Pötenitz Castle also impresses with a campfire concert and the Friedrichshof manor house offers an open-air cinema with the timeless classic “Casablanca”.
On Sunday, 48 manor houses and manor houses will be open, with Groß Lüsewitz Castle hosting a fine string concert. Various performances invite you to enjoy the culinary delicacies and the gentle sounds of the region.
Transportation and ticket information
For convenient access to the events, shuttle buses are available from the cities of Rostock, Wismar, Schwerin and Greifswald, making travel easier for visitors. Tickets are available either online or via the tourist information centers or directly at the participating manor houses. Prices vary, with a day ticket in advance costing €14 and a weekend ticket for both days costing €25. There are discounted offers for schoolchildren and students.
