What's going on around Cologne? This weekend there are numerous events on the program in the region that promise promising experiences for young and old. From large festivals organized by committed village clubs and fire departments to happy celebrations - there is something for every taste!

The much-anticipated Rock at the Church festival is taking place in Carlow. From July 11th to 13th, the Carlow Cultural Group and the Evangelical Lutheran Church Community invite you to a colorful program. It starts on Fridays at 9 p.m. with the movie “Monsieur Claude 2” on the open-air stage. On Saturday, rocky sounds are on the agenda: open air rock concerts for a good cause. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. The proceeds will be used to support the organization “Borderline Europe – Human Rights Without Borders e.V.” be supported. The crowning conclusion is the musical service on Sunday at 11 a.m. in the church.

Diverse festivities in the region

Also on Friday, July 11th, the community of Döbbersen will celebrate the anniversary of its church consecration. The band “Les Bumms Boys” from Rostock will ensure the best atmosphere in the St. Vitus rectory at 8:30 p.m. under the motto “Church meets Beat”. A festive church service is scheduled for Saturday, followed by delicious coffee, cake and good sound from “Stiff la Wolf”. Sunday also offers a traditional forest and lake run.

If you prefer to celebrate in the streets, you should come to Klein Welzin on July 12th. From 3 p.m. a happy street festival awaits visitors, organized by the Gottesgabe village and cultural association. Here you can look forward to coffee, cake and exciting games for young and old. From 6 p.m. onwards people will start dancing.

The summer festival of the volunteer fire department in Meetzen, also on Saturday, is also celebrating a very special anniversary: ​​75 years of the volunteer fire department! At 2 p.m. there will be a historic fire department parade from Holdorf to Meetzen, followed by fire department demonstrations, air rifle shooting and pony rides for the little visitors. DJ Dieter will provide DJ sounds for the barn party from 8 p.m.

And in Groß Rünz, festival guests can also look forward to a pond and family festival! There will be lots of activities there on July 12th from 11am, including a wheelbarrow obstacle course and goal wall shooting. The fire department not only ensures sufficient entertainment but also caters for the guests.
