Terrible accident on L102: Three seriously injured after Audi crash!

On November 2, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on the L102, near Triwalk, in which three people were injured. A 20-year-old driver of an Audi left the road for unknown reasons, rolled over and crashed into a street tree. The young man was so seriously injured that he was trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued by the fire department.

The fire brigade from Dorf Mecklenburg and Lübow quickly came to the scene of the accident to take the necessary measures for safety and rescue. The driver was ultimately flown to a hospital in Lübeck in a rescue helicopter. The two passengers, 21 and 20 years old, were able to get out of the vehicle independently, but they also suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to nearby hospitals. The estimated material damage amounts to around 25,000 euros.

Clarification of the cause of the accident

On the orders of the Schwerin public prosecutor's office, Dekra was commissioned to determine the exact cause of the accident. The accident site had to be completely closed to traffic at times while rescue and recovery work was carried out. All people involved have German passports.

The incident joins the sad statistics of traffic accidents in Germany. In 2024 there was loud Statista around 2.5 million road traffic accidents, of which the number of injuries has remained constant in recent years. Nevertheless, the goal of “Vision Zero” remains to bring the number of traffic deaths to zero by 2050. By 2024, the number of road deaths in Germany will have fallen to 2,770, but the challenges remain.

Statistics show that the most common causes of accidents resulting in personal injuries are insufficient distance and inadequate speed. In addition, the number of alcohol-related accidents makes up a worrying proportion: In 2024, there were 198 deaths and over 17,000 injuries due to alcohol-related traffic accidents. The circumstances that lead to accidents require not only greater awareness among road users, but also significant improvements in infrastructure.

The tragedy on the L102 vividly shows how important road safety is. The current discussion about road safety and accident prevention is continually stimulated by such incidents. It's high time we all got a good handle on taking responsibility in traffic.
