There seems to be a lot going on in Wismar! The city has invested heavily in its cruise terminal and is increasingly attracting large ships. A highlight is the Disney cruise ship“Disney Adventures”, which will leave Wismar on August 30th to store fuel in Mukran before setting off on the much-anticipated maiden voyage to Singapore. Criticism of the infrastructure and air quality

This shows that despite the progress in the port infrastructure, Wismar still has to contend with some challenges.
However, environmentalists view it particularly critically: cruise ships not only bring guests, but also their own challenges. The last two ships even had to temporarily dock outside the port because construction work prevented them from docking.
The local population and their needs
