Fantastic arrival: Disney Adventure celebrates its premiere in Bremerhaven!
The Disney Adventures, the largest cruise ship ever built in Germany, left the shipyard in Wismar on September 1st, 2025 and arrived in Bremerhaven on September 9th. After almost six years of construction and numerous challenges, including the insolvency of MV Werften and the corona pandemic, the impressive ship is now moving into the Kaiserhafen, where the final touches are being done. This Monday the maneuver was particularly exciting because the 342 meter long and 46 meter wide colossus had to navigate backwards through a narrow lock chamber.
Once in Bremerhaven, the ship will stay until September 30th or even October 14th. During this time, work will be carried out on the complete hotel equipment, as the ship could not be left in Wismar due to its weight. Soul tours offer visitors the opportunity to admire the magnificent ship up close, while the Kaisernhafen site remains closed to the public.
An impressive piece of engineering
If you look at the Technology When you look at Disney Adventure, it quickly becomes clear that this is a masterpiece of engineering. The vessel is equipped with modern diesel-electric propulsion, ensuring efficient operation, while the azimuth propellers significantly improve maneuverability. There are also advanced systems for power and water supply on board, which, among other things, produce drinking water by desalinating seawater.
The ship's bridge is the heart of navigation. Here route planning is done using GPS, radar and electronic nautical charts. Automated systems make control easier, but complete control remains with the captain and officers.
An exciting maiden flight is about to begin
The final tests and equipment at the Lloyd Werft are scheduled to be completed before the planned maiden voyage in Singapore on December 15th. The ship is designed for 6,700 passengers and 2,500 crew members. At the stern of the ship, Mickey and Minnie Mouse greet future guests - another sign of the creative touch that Disney brings to each of their projects.
The test trips that took place between Bremerhaven and the Baltic Sea not only included checking the drive technology, but also tight turning maneuvers, which are particularly important when entering ports. Before the trip there were also problems understanding the shallow water, which had to be overcome by tugboats.
So Disney Adventure has a lot to offer and is sure to pique the interest of cruise enthusiasts worldwide. The shipyard in Bremerhaven and its 4,500 workers are ready to prepare the impressive ship for its future voyages.
