Fury in the Slaughterhouse: Fiery tour start in Rostock's IGA Park!

Yesterday, June 20, 2025, the time had finally come: the cult band Fury in the Slaughterhouse opened their tour in Rostock's picturesque Iga Park. Almost 5,000 fans came to experience the band, which was founded in 1987 by Kai and Thorsten Wingenfelder, Reiner Schumann, Christof Stein-Schneider and Hannes Schäfer, live. To celebrate the 40th anniversary, a two-hour concert was offered that included both the greatest hits and fresh sounds.

What an experience for the fans! Popular songs like “Won’t forget these days” and “Time to Wonder” rang through the park and were loudly requested by the audience. But the new pieces, such as “Sorrowland” and “Nine Lives”, were also very well received and caused enthusiasm. Guitarist Christof Stein-Schneider had the amusing idea of referring to the audience as “test rabbits,” a reference to how the band experimented with their new material.

A look into the past

The band history of Fury in the Slaughterhouse is as varied as the history of music itself, which has experienced an enormous variety of sounds over the last 120 years. From the sonorous operas of the early 20th century to the electrifying band sounds and pop music that reach audiences today, time shows how music is constantly changing and setting new trends. This development was also important for Fury, as the band successfully experimented with different styles of music and found their own style that appealed to many generations.

What is particularly interesting is that the concert in Iga Park was the fourth of a total of ten concerts as part of the IGA Concert Summer 2023. The audience can look forward to other great artists: Roland Kaiser will perform on July 4th and 5th, followed by Die Fantastischen Vier on July 11th and Montez on July 26th. Fans of Sido and Wincent Weiss shouldn't miss August 9th and 15th either.
