On Sunday evening, SC Rist Wedel finally achieved its first win of the season in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in Rostock. With a convincing 80:60 win against the Seawolves Academy, the team celebrated an impressive success, which at the same time sets a promising sign for the coming games. The win could prove to be a turning point this season, following two previous defeats and the added emotional toll of a close derby against Itzehoe Eagles just 41 hours earlier. Although the last part of the game became a little more exciting when the Wedel team took a three-minute “complete time-out”, the lead was gradually restored. This underlines the progress the team has made since the opening game against Rhöndorf. While the team initially struggled, they have now clearly shown that they are willing to develop and grow as a unit. Tomas Bjarkason and Lincoln Rosebush had taken part in training in the days before the game, which had a clearly positive effect.
