Transfer thriller: HSV and Eintracht Braunschweig secure top players!

Deadline Day for transfers was again announced in German football clubs on September 1, 2025. Players could be changed until 8 p.m. and the Bundesliga clubs also took advantage of this opportunity. The fan base could look forward to some exciting commitments.

A look at the transfers shows that the NDR reported a lot of changes in the Bundesliga. Hamburger SV has signed two well-known players: Fabio Vieira is coming on loan from Arsenal, while Albert Sambi Lokonga is also moving to the Hanseatic League from London. In return, Otto Stange and Joel Agyekum were loaned out - the former to SV Elversberg and the latter to Viktoria Köln.

New faces in Wolfsburg

Another focus is on VfL Wolfsburg. In an impressive move, the club were able to sign Adam Daghim and Jenson Seelt, both on loan. Attacker Daghim comes from RB Salzburg, while defender Seelt comes from Sunderland. David Odogu's move to AC Milan has also been confirmed, so the Wolves can count on a breath of fresh air in the squad.

The transfer period around Deadline Day also alarmed the fans in Eintracht Braunschweig, who celebrated the signings of Florian Flick from Nuremberg and Robert Ramsak from RB Leipzig. They also gave away Marvin Rittmüller to 1860 Munich and sent Walid Ould-Chikh on loan to Almelo.

Current developments and outlook

Developments at other clubs were also followed with excitement. Hannover 96 signed William Kokolo from Stade Laval and loaned Lars Gindorf to Alemannia Aachen. Other clubs, such as Werder Bremen and FC St. Pauli, also had their hands full with newcomers and departures. Sports buzzer highlights that the ability to make transfer decisions until 8pm applied in Germany and many European leagues such as Serie A, but not in the Premier League, La Liga or Ligue 1, where windows remained open until midnight.

Overall, the transfer window, which was shorter due to the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, was well used to integrate new faces into the teams. At least this year, clubs were able to arrange their movements between July 1 and September 1 - with a clear deadline. Bundesliga.com emphasizes that the tension regarding the transfers is not easing outside of Germany either. Despite all the moments, the question remains: Who will best adapt to the new situation and show what they're made of?

Deadline Day may be over, but fans can look forward to an exciting season as the newly formed teams give their best on the pitch!
