Traffic chaos in Rostock: traffic jams and construction sites paralyze the city!
After a busy weekend full of activity, today, June 30, 2025, there is one thing in particular that is in the focus of road users in Rostock: the numerous traffic jam and traffic information. Neubrandenburger Straße in Rostock will be renovated in three sections from 2025, with the first part, which extends from the railway crossing to the Molkerei/Röthsoll residential area, likely to begin in February 2025. Drivers have to expect restrictions here for around nine months, as well as in the neighboring residential areas, where the municipal utility is planning to provide district heating, which could also lead to closures lasting months.

Current traffic jams were found on the B105, among other places. There are several messages here:
- Zwischen Gelbensande und Bentwisch: 14 Minuten Zeitverlust, 3,6 km lang.
- Zwischen Joachim-Schlue-Straße und Parkstraße: 5 Minuten Zeitverlust, 0,2 km lang.
- Zusätzlich sind mehrere kleinere Behinderungen und Sperrungen gemeldet, die teilweise nur kurze Zeitverluste verursachen.
Construction sites and permanent construction sites
Rostock continues to struggle with protracted construction sites. The bridge in Rennbahnallee at the zoo will be rebuilt by autumn 2026, while the Vorpommernbrücke over the Warnow must be demolished and replaced. The time frame for these measures is set at around 15 years!
