Shock in MV: 17-year-old critically injured after motorcycle accident!
A life-threatening motorcycle accident occurred in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in which a 17-year-old driver was seriously injured. The teenager lost control of his motorcycle on a curve and fell. He slipped into the oncoming lane, where he collided with an oncoming car. What happened next was dramatic: the injured biker had to be flown to the Rostock clinic in a rescue helicopter. The total extent of the accident is estimated at over 10,000 euros, as both the motorcycle and the car were no longer roadworthy after the incident, reports stern.de.
This accident joins a worrying series of serious motorcycle accidents in the region. Within a week, three motorcyclists lost their lives and at least five others were seriously injured, as reported by nordkurier.de. The decline in road safety is causing great concern among motorcyclists and traffic authorities.
A worrying trend
The police have started an investigation into the recent accidents. On Wednesday last week, a 26-year-old motorcyclist also fell near Gützkow when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a guide post. He was seriously injured and had to be taken to a clinic; the material damage is estimated at around 5,000 euros.
Another tragic incident occurred on the same evening in Rostock, where a 56-year-old motorcyclist was fatally injured in an accident turning left. The driver missed him, which led to the road being closed for two and a half hours. Here the damage was estimated at 30,000 euros.
In addition, a 75-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a rear-end collision on the B111 between Bansin and Ückeritz and also had to be taken to hospital by helicopter.
A call for safety
The repeated occurrence of such accidents not only raises questions about the safety of motorcyclists, but also requires a rethinking of all road users. The police appeal to drivers to drive particularly carefully and to always keep an eye on motorcyclists in order to avoid such tragic events.
There were further serious accidents in the area in August of this year. A 68-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a tree, and there were fatal accidents in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district on two other days. This sad development encourages local authorities and traffic experts to step up preventive measures and increase safety on the roads.
