Last Saturday the ceremonial opening of the 12th art show took place in the Kulturmühle Parchim. Under the motto “Near and Far”, 22 artists from the region will present their works that deal intensively with these two topics. The exhibition covers an impressive 300 square meters and shows a variety of design options and ideas that interpret the topic in a variety of ways. Curator Eckhard Bergmann placed a strong emphasis on the symbolic meaning of the number twelve, which represents perfection and cosmic order, while Benjamin Kryl, the director of the city museum, describes the concepts of closeness as sharp and explanatory and distance as soft and romantic. This exciting duality attracts art lovers and the curious alike. According to [nordkurier.de](https://www.nordkurier.de/regional/parchim/12-kunstschau-in-parchim- Feierlich-eroeffnet-3750344), Mayor Dirk Flörke also praised the commitment of Bergmann, the museum team and the volunteers who made a significant contribution to the success of the exhibition.
The art show is not only a showcase for creative works, but also a platform for exchange. A special highlight will be an artist talk with Eckhard Bergmann, which will take place on August 16th at 4 p.m. Visitors can look forward to deeper insights into the artists' minds. The big auction, which will be held on August 30th at 11 a.m., promises to be an exciting event, as the proceeds are intended for the preservation of artists' estates in West Mecklenburg. These are steps with which Parchim would like to further consolidate its status as a city of culture and art, and not without reason. The 10th art show had over 1200 visitors who were enthusiastic about the diversity of the art on display, as confirmed by parchim.de.
Opening times and entrance fees
The exhibition is open until August 30, 2025. Anyone who would like to admire the works of art can do so from Tuesday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on weekends from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The entrance fee is 3 euros, while a brochure about the exhibition is available for 2 euros. Tickets can be easily purchased at the Kulturmühle tourist information office, so nothing stands in the way of a relaxed visit to the art. Anyone who has always wanted to explore the vibrations of near and far has the perfect opportunity here.
This art show not only offers impressive works, but also an excellent opportunity to reflect on your own perception of near and far. A little more than 300 square meters of concentrated creativity – that makes Parchim one of the most exciting art locations in the region.
