Reconstruction of Ludwigsluster Chaussee: traffic is being rerouted!

From October 15, 2025, there will be a new traffic routing on Ludwigsluster Chaussee in Schwerin. Loud daily news The lanes leading into the city will be closed, which means that traffic on the opposite lane will be routed past the construction site. This measure is part of the ongoing repair work that has been carried out by the Schwerin City Economic Services (SDS) since August.

The changes will start with the diversion of traffic to the sea side, which is expected to be maintained until April 30, 2026. During this period, the exit from Hagenower Straße will remain inaccessible, although turning from Ludwigsluster Chaussee into Hagenower Straße will be possible again. In addition, pedestrians and cyclists must expect the crossing option to be redirected by around 50 meters out of town - a replacement stop for bus traffic will also be set up here.

Details about the construction work

How Schwerin.de reported, the first construction phase on the lane out of town was completed ahead of schedule. The second construction phase began on October 13th and is scheduled to last until December 19th, 2025. This work extends from the Lennéstrasse exit to the intersection on Ostorfer Ufer. The goal is to remove the barriers by the winter months and to control traffic efficiently.

The traffic lights are also the focus of the current construction work, which began on October 14th. Road users can expect more disruption on the morning of October 16 while further work is carried out on the traffic signals.

Construction and traffic management

Traffic and construction site management is an interdisciplinary process that requires careful planning. The Company HOFFMANN-LEICHTER ensures that these measures run as smoothly as possible and that restrictions for residents and road users are kept as low as possible. The aim is to optimally adapt traffic routing and make constant adjustments in order to minimize the impact of the construction sites.

The city asks all road users to understand the inevitable inconveniences that may occur during this construction period and hopes that the work will be completed quickly in order to make Ludwigsluster Chaussee fully usable for traffic again soon.
