MV Environmental Award: Seven winners set an example for sustainability!

Environmental awareness is very important in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania! The state parliament recently awarded its renowned environmental prize, which this year was endowed with a total of 25,000 euros. This award has been presented annually since 1992 and is dedicated to the memory of the natural scientist and historian Ernst Boll. This year in particular, seven winners were able to impress the jury and were pleased with the awards. Both institutions received 4,000 euros each for their outstanding sustainability projects. In addition, the What Now?! e.V. in Schwerin accepted 2,000 euros for an innovative car sharing project. These initiatives are not only important for the region, but also a strong signal for more conscious and environmentally friendly behavior in society.

The challenges of modern times, such as water shortages, climate changes and species extinction, make it clear how important it is to promote sustainable economic activity. The State Parliament Environmental Award is part of an ongoing process to create greater awareness of environmentally friendly practices at an individual and organizational level. The State Parliament MV emphasizes that the importance of smaller, on-site measures is enormous in order to strengthen biodiversity and promote species protection.

The call for proposals for the next cycle is open to all individuals, groups, associations and companies as long as the projects are country-specific and have not yet been awarded an award.
