Music teacher from Tribsees brings excitement to the retirement home – read now!
Maik Skopp, a versatile musician and passionate writer, recently launched his debut crime series in the tranquil small town of Tribsees. The man, known in the region as a member of the “Trebelmusikanten” – the wind orchestra of the volunteer fire department – who also tours through Western Pomerania as a drummer with the band “Lebenszeit”, has now developed his creative streak in a new genre. Skopp, who also demonstrates his technical skills as a music teacher, opens an exciting new door in the world of crime fiction with his book “Angel of Death in the Nursing Home”.
The captivating first part of his series “Wild Wild Old” will be published on October 31, 2023 and promises a humorous investigative story peppered with North German calm and a pinch of dryness. The plot revolves around four seniors who live in a retirement home on the picturesque island of Rügen and develop into detectives. Skopp himself has published several works in various genres, including psychological thrillers, romances and even fantasy books, and his creative range is impressive. Over the years he has shown a good knack for exciting stories, including his fantasy novel about a boy's friendship with a dinosaur, which was published in 2023.
A new path in literature
Skopp came up with the idea of working as an author not least because of his love of music and storytelling. As a drummer, he not only has a feeling for rhythm, but also for the right tone in his stories. He is also planning to hold a reading in which he would like to combine music and exciting stories. Those interested can find information about this on his website www.mickymolken.de.
His current book, “Water and Wine,” published in early 2023, showcases Skopp’s ability to juggle words. The crime series and the break into the literary world are a return to his passion, as he previously worked as an Edeka store manager and ultimately rediscovered his passion for music and writing.
North German identity and literature
Northern Germany, an area dominated by the Low German language, provides the perfect backdrop for Skopp's stories. The region, known for its cultural and scenic highlights as well as its proximity to the sea, also has a rich tradition in crime literature. This identity runs not only through the stories themselves, but also through the way they are told. According to regiokrimi.de, the North German mentality is known for its special sense of humor, which is remarkably evident in Skopp's stories.
Skopp's crime novels not only represent exciting entertainment, but also expand the diversity of North German literature. He joins a long line of authors who reflect the soul of the region in their works and is doing good business in the literary world. The longing for new and original stories remains unbroken, and Skopp's approach brings a breath of fresh air to the northern German crime scene.
There is already great anticipation for October 31st, when “Angel of Death in the Nursing Home” will be released. Readers can look forward to an entertaining read that combines both humorous and exciting elements. Skopp's works show that it is never too late to take new paths and realize your dreams - in music and literature.
