On Monday evening, October 27th, there was a violent confrontation between a large group of men in front of a supermarket in Grimmen, Vorpommern-Rügen district. The incident, in which, according to Ostsee Zeitung numerous injuries were reported, called five police patrol cars onto the scene. The first emergency services quickly arrived at the scene of the accident, but found that the people present initially vehemently denied the existence of a dispute.
The turning point came when a 22-year-old man, who had suffered head injuries in the fight, informed police that he had been beaten by a 22-year-old and a 23-year-old. This statement turned out to be crucial as it shed light on the true course of events and supported the police in their investigative work.
