New UDS app: Your digital companion for studying and campus life!

The University of Saarland has taken a big step in digital support for students and employees. Today the new UDS app was published, which was developed by the digitization department. This app offers comprehensive information, services and systems that are organized around the study, research and campus life. The aim is to facilitate access to the university's digital service offers. The app is now free of charge in Google Play Store and Apple App Store Enterable

The use of the UDS app is possible both through personal UDS detection and guest mode, so that no registration is required. The app contains a variety of functions:

  • News and events that can be subscribed individually.
  • up -to -date cafeteria with ingredients and prices of the dishes on the campus in Saarbrücken and Homburg as well as at the HTW Saar.
  • Information on the individual credit on the cafeteria card and for further gastro offers.
  • an interactive campus card for the quick finding of buildings.
  • Information about fault reports on non -functional infrastructure.
  • A help area for studying and teaching, including international exchange programs and university sports.

Integration of learning platforms and chatbots

In the app, students can also access learning platforms such as Moodle as well as on Outlook calendar and team video conferences. In addition, the UDS app offers several chatbots, including a 'Copilot' based on Microsoft's Chatgpt and the 'Hawki platform'. The app also bears the test mark "Tested app", which was awarded by TÜV Saarland Solutions GmbH. This certification confirms compliance with high requirements for data protection, IT security and user-friendliness.

In addition to the UDS app, the Saarland University has developed a new sports app that is closely linked to the movement offers of the university sports center (HSZ). This app is intended to address both employees and the UDS students, but can also be used by students from other Saarland universities and guests. It offers information on course programs and the fitness studio "Uni-Fit" as well as booking software for documenting the exercises.

Movement in everyday study everyday life

Not only the provision of information is the focus. The aim is also to create direct incentives to integrate movement into the everyday life of the students. Therefore, the app includes various sporting offers such as the movement course "Campus in motion" and initiated programs such as "University Sports Online-Fit at the desk". Users are motivated by push messages and can take part in daily and weekly activation and movement programs.

These developments show how universities use digital tools to support students across the entire student-life-cycle, such as studo.com . From university -owned software solutions to standard software and third -party products, universities offer a wide range of offers to organize your studies and to facilitate learning.

With the introduction of these apps, the University of the Saarland not only improved access to important information and services, but also took an important step towards a digitally supported campus life.
