Bartholomäusmarkt in Lamstedt: fun for the whole family!
What's going on in Lamstedt? An exciting event is about to happen! The traditional St. Bartholomew's Market will take place from August 22nd to 24th, attracting not only locals but also visitors from the surrounding area. It starts on Friday, August 22nd at 3 p.m. and the organizers have come up with a lot of ideas to ensure great joy and entertainment. In addition to family-friendly prices and discount campaigns, little guests can look forward to a games afternoon at the DRK kindergarten, which offers games and craft activities as well as face painting from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The official opening will take place at 6 p.m. by Mayor Manfred Knust, who will ring in the market with a ceremonial tapping of the barrel. From then on the commercial tent will be open, for the first time in a new location opposite Nah & Frisch. Companies such as carpentry Harald Hinck and Hesse Immobilien present their exciting offers here. The book room in the community center is also open from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and offers some reading fun for a donation.
Attractions and entertainment
Saturday, August 23rd, will be really colorful. The rides come into use from 2 p.m., including bumper cars and a rollercoaster ride. A big Börde parade through the town center is the highlight of the day, with decorated floats and sweets livening up the streets. A special event is the awarding of the most original car at around 10 p.m., followed by an after-move party with the band “Back to the Beat”. Anyone who thinks that's all will be proven wrong on Sunday, August 24th!
Sunday shopping starts at 12 p.m. and the local shops invite you to browse. Another attraction is the Börde Museum, which is open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the “historic coffee mills” exhibition. From 3 p.m., festival visitors can sample culinary delicacies from the DRK Hollen, while the “Hechthausener Ostemusikanten” provide musical entertainment in the festival tent. Rolf Weiß's barrel organ music will be played every day, and visitors are invited to play a piece themselves.
