Summer festival in Sibbesse: Kita Blumenwiese impresses with ice cream mobiles and games!

Last Saturday, July 12, 2025, the DRK-Kita Blumenwiese in Sibbesse celebrated its eagerly awaited summer festival. In brilliant weather, children, parents and staff experienced a colorful day full of fun and community. The anticipation is palpable, not least because the summer festival is a highlight in the little ones' daycare careers.

The preparations for the festival were extensive and required careful planning. Daycare director Caroline Schwarze and her team put together a diverse program that sparked great enthusiasm among the children and their families. Among the numerous activities on offer were creative activities such as throwing cans, fishing for balls and looking for “gems” in the sandpit. The children were also able to make leather bags and have them turned into small works of art with face painting.

Surprise from the ice cream mobile

A special highlight was the ice cream mobile from Volksbank Hildesheimer Börde, which surprised the daycare children. Branch director Daniel Gerves and employees Jessica Möhle and Sonja Fischer brought delicious ice cream, which the little ones received with great joy. The children had previously decorated a large school cone with colorful colors and thus won a visit from the ice cream mobile - a great reward for their creativity!

However, the frivolous enjoyment of the ice cream was not the only attraction. A large bouncy castle was very popular and there was an exciting wheelbarrow race for the parents. “It’s nice that we were able to celebrate together today and I warmly invite all new children and parents to become part of our community,” said Caroline Schwarze after the successful event.

Tombola and culinary delights

Another highlight of the summer festival was the raffle, which offered some great prizes. Supported by regional restaurateurs and shops, there were vouchers for pizza, ice cream and toy shops to be won. The proceeds from the raffle go towards excursions and play materials for the children at the daycare center - an investment in their joy and development.

The food wasn't neglected either: In addition to the ice cream, there was bratwurst, fries and many other delicacies to round off the day. Such celebrations not only strengthen the community spirit, but also promote the social development of children through play and interaction. The children had the opportunity to show off their creative skills and have fun at the same time.

Overall, the DRK-Kita Blumenwiese summer festival shows how important community and celebrating together are for the development and social skills of children. Events like these are a valuable part of everyday daycare and help build a strong community.
