Drunk driver causes accident in Naumburg - driver's license lost!
On Saturday around 5:30 p.m. a traffic accident occurred on federal highway 180 in Naumburg, which luckily resulted in no injuries. A 55-year-old driver from Naumburg veered off the road to the left, his vehicle ended up in a ditch and had significant damage to the steering. A towing company was called to recover the vehicle. When the accident was recorded, the police found a breath alcohol level of 1.68 per mille. The driver surrendered his driver's license on site and the authorities have opened an investigation into drunk driving. Fortunately, there was no material damage and there were no injuries Saxony-Anhalt Police reported.
A few hours later, on Monday afternoon, there was another incident in Weißenfels. A fire was started in the basement of a residential building at Waltherstrasse 9. Unknown perpetrators had set rubbish on fire, but the fire brigade quickly arrived on the scene and was able to bring the flames under control. Here, too, there were no injuries and the material damage caused was minimal. The police have already started an investigation into attempted arson.
