KSG Zeitz triumphs with six medals at the Ju-Jutsu championships
Last weekend there was a lot of fighting for medals in Norderstedt. The German Ju-Jutsu Individual Championships brought exciting competitions and impressive performances, and the KSG Zeitz team particularly shone. With a total of six medals, the athletes from Zeitz won the hearts of the spectators and showed what the club is all about. Among the 270 participants who stood at the starting line in the Fighting, Duo and Ne-Waza disciplines, there were 23 athletes from Saxony-Anhalt alone. Of these, 13 came from KSG Zeitz.
In the duo discipline, the team presented some real highlights. Kevin Zoch and Tobias Schiller were a well-rehearsed duo and clearly prevailed in the qualification. This not only pleased the audience, but also led them to the final, where they won against a Bavarian team and took home the title of “German Champions”. Their performance in the Duo Show category was also really impressive: their pirate show impressed the judges, whereupon they secured the championship title here too.
Successes in duos and individually
But KSG Zeitz didn't just move forward as a duo. Jasmin Ittensohn and Kevin Zoch also showed their skills in the mixed class. They had to admit defeat in the final, but were still able to receive the title of “German runner-up”. In addition, Schabnam Ataii secured a silver medal in the U21 category, as did Mario Steinhauer, who was also on the podium. With these services, the DJJV e.V., the largest association for self-defense and violence prevention in Germany, was able to once again demonstrate how important it is to work with young people.
Five gold medals were enough for Team Ju-Jitsu Saxony-Anhalt to achieve an excellent third place in the national rankings. This impressively shows how strong the association and its members are in competition and training practice. The DJJV is a member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation and offers a wide range of jujutsu for all age groups.
Club life in Zeitz
However, the athletes' successes are not only due to their individual skills, but also to the strong support of the club. Around 800 people visit the club headquarters in the “IG Klinkerhallen” leisure center in Zeitz every week, where training courses take place regularly. Anyone who shows their commitment as a sponsor has the opportunity to present themselves at competitions and championships through advertising in the form of banners or roll-ups. In the club's reception area there are even flyer holders and a TV screen that provides interesting information. Let's not forget that the club regularly reports on current activities and successes, which further increases the visibility of the sponsors. In this way, the club shows that it is not only an important sporting home for its members, but also an active part of the community that promotes commitment and social responsibility.
Overall, it can be said that the German Championships in Norderstedt were not only characterized by individual performances, but also showed a strong sense of community within the DJJV and KSG Zeitz. These successes provide a taste of what the future can bring. The sporting landscape in Germany can definitely look forward to further highlights.
