Subaru theft turns out to be a misunderstanding in Dessau!

On Friday, August 8th, an exciting incident could have occurred in Dessau, especially at August-Bebel-Platz. A 66-year-old tourist reported an alleged car theft by telephone, convinced that his Subaru had been stolen. But the police quickly began to have doubts about the man's story. Although the visitor was excited, he was unable to provide the exact location of his vehicle - a circumstance that raised skepticism among the police. After a thorough search of the area, the car was finally found intact in the parking lot on Franzstrasse, at the corner of Kantorstrasse. The owner was simply wrong, and the officials found no criminal relevance, as mz.de reports.

In the meantime, there are more charming stories to report from the region. On August 10th, two 17-year-olds reported bicycle theft. They had parked their bikes in the forest pool on August 9th and properly secured them with locks. But this was in vain - the bicycles were stolen, the total damage amounts to around 950 euros, as the Saxony-Anhalt Press Office reports.

More incidents in the region

The police had to deal with further operations in the past week. A striking incident occurred on August 10th when a 33-year-old cyclist was injured by ignoring the right of way. Fortunately, she refused medical attention, while property damage was estimated at around 6,000 euros. Another traffic accident in Dessau-Even, which happened on August 9th, ended in a rear-end collision in which a 44-year-old BMW driver and a 23-year-old Volvo driver were losers - the material damage amounted to around 1,100 euros.

But it's not just car accidents that cause excitement. Another 80-year-old man filed a complaint of embezzlement and fraud on August 9th after losing his bank card on August 7th. Unknown perpetrators had used them to buy goods worth around 25 euros. The police then initiated a KUNO procedure to block the card.

Lost property and arrests

As expected, there were also some encouraging developments. The police reported several lost items, including a cell phone that was found in the city park on August 8th and an iPhone on Clara-Zetkin-Straße on August 9th. A 54-year-old finder brought a wallet containing cash and cards to the police station so that all the rightful owners could be notified and the items returned.

And finally, on August 8th, a 17-year-old was arrested in Dessau-Süd with an arrest warrant. He ended up in prison after the Dessau-Roßlau public prosecutor's office executed the arrest warrant. It remains exciting to see what the coming days will bring in the city!
