Fairytale Valley Bad Grund: Last minute rescue by new club!
In the picturesque Harz, a popular destination for holidaymakers and day trippers, the fairytale valley in Bad Grund is currently facing major challenges. How news38.de reported that the idyllic complex appeared to be in an overgrown state, characterized by dirty signs and dilapidated miniature houses. This alarming situation ultimately led to the temporary closure of the attraction, which was necessary for safety reasons and due to the urgent need for repairs.
The withdrawal of the previous tenants, Kerstin and Christian Hoffmann, has an additional impact on the situation in the Märchental. The hope that the Hoffmanns could continue their lease was disappointed. Health reasons forced her to no longer manage the facility's fortunes harzkurier.de reported. Since the new season is coming up in May, the search for a new tenant is particularly urgent. If this does not succeed, a valuable leisure activity in the Harz would be lost.
Necessary measures for reopening
In order to ensure that the fairytale valley can be reopened, the tenant imposes three essential conditions: firstly, taking care of the tree work, secondly, the revision and renewal of the technology and the electricity system, and thirdly, the piping of the waterfall and the water flow. An initial grant from the Regional Association of Southern Lower Saxony has already been approved to tackle the tree work. Innovative ideas, such as a new forest stage, are on the agenda, and new windows are being purchased for the miniature houses.
The recently founded support association with seven members, whose entry in the association register has been delayed, faces the challenge of coordinating a lot of necessary work. So far, the association “Citizens Helping Citizens e.V.” has already mobilized support for events such as fairy tales and readings. 18 committed members of “Citizens Help Citizens Clausthal-Zellerfeld e.V.” have even agreed to work, which shows that there is great interest in a revival.
Taking advantage of opportunities and outlook
The time until the next round of applications should be used to obtain further offers and expand the association. The plan is to apply for funding through the EU LEADER program, even if the deadline for the last application was missed due to a lack of an official certificate. But the hope remains that the necessary measures will be implemented in a timely manner and that Fairytale Valley will once again become an attraction for young and old.
The Harz impresses with a variety of attractions such as the Brocken, the Hexentanzplatz and the fascinating stalactite caves. The region also offers a variety of leisure activities in winter, such as harzinfo.de shows. From alpine skiing to cross-country skiing to winter hikes – the Harz has something to offer for everyone. It remains to be hoped that the fairytale valley will soon become part of this diverse landscape again and thus continue to be a popular destination for families and day trippers.
