Cultural festival in Magdeburg: A weekend full of music and art!

An exciting weekend is coming up in Magdeburg! From September 5th to 7th, 2025, the city will be transformed into a unique cultural center. Talented artists take to the stage at the free cultural festival, which takes place in the Rothehorn city park as well as at the lifting bridge and the Elbe meadows. Among others, the brass funk punk jazz trio Brass Riot will provide rousing sounds. Also the indie band Bruchbude and the synth-pop band Tropikel Ltd. will delight the audience. The anticipation could hardly be greater, as there is something for every musical taste! With such talent, Magdeburg once again lives up to its reputation as a cultural hotspot MDR reported.

But that's not all - just a few days later, on September 10, 2025, the talented musician Antoní will present his concert at the Moritzhof. At 8:30 p.m. his indie folk music will be heard with his debut album “Holding Tight Lightly,” released in 2024. His themes are both profound and touching, from the search for wisdom to the challenges of modern life.

Magdeburg Culture Night: A celebration of creativity

Another highlight in this cultural September is the Magdeburg Culture Night on September 20, 2025. Under the motto “Be awake and dream deeper,” the city will become a lively place of art and culture from 6 p.m. to midnight. An exciting program for young and old is offered in Buckau and in the Klosterbergegarten. The opening takes place in the Klosterbergegarten with Mayor Simone Borris and town clerk Marcus Hammerschmitt.

If that's not enough, you can look forward to a variety of exciting activities. From readings, including Edgar Allan Poe and Annett Gröschner, to music acts like Stina Holmquist or Foyal, to dance and theater performances. Open-air exhibitions and creative workshops will also find a place in this colorful mix.

A versatile program for everyone

The Culture Night program will take place at over 37 locations, and numerous highlights await visitors. The Magdeburg Puppet Theater will entertain the audience with a special piece. In addition, an impressive light and LED show will attract Magdeburg residents to the Klosterbergegarten. From 11:30 p.m. the evening ends in a relaxed manner in the jazz lounge in the Gesellschaftshaus.

For everyone who wants to take part in this cultural explosion, tickets will be available in advance from August 25, 2025. You can secure the colorful program for 15 euros for full-paying adults and 10 euros reduced. The organizers are charitableMagdeburg Culture Night, which form a broad alliance of cultural workers and artists.

And that's not all! On September 27th, the well-known band Keimzeit will be on stage at the Old Theater to celebrate their hits - a concert that the band's fans shouldn't miss! Keimzeit has been active for over 40 years and brings with it many well-known songs such as “Kling Klang” and “Projektil”.
