Recall alert: Bacteria discovered in Edeka and Rewe fish products!

Concerns about food safety have increased again in recent weeks. A double recall affects several products offered in popular supermarkets. [Ruhr24]. The affected supermarkets include Dohle, Edeka and Rewe.

The first recall concerns Entremont brand raclette cheese. The affected pack sizes vary between 125g, 200g and 1kg, with best-before dates until November 27, 2025. The reason for the recall is a possible Listeria contamination, which can be particularly dangerous for risk groups such as pregnant women, newborns and seniors. Symptoms of a listeria infection include fever, diarrhea and severe body aches.

Six fish products under suspicion

In addition to the cheese, seven fish products from Ostseefisch must also be recalled, including herring and herring items. These products are also available in Rewe branches. The recall affects:

  • Ostsee Fisch Feine Heringsfilets nach Matjesart, 300g (EAN 4013276160008)
  • Ostsee Fisch Edle Matjesfilet, 150g (EAN 4013276160022)
  • Ostsee Fisch Kräutermatjes, 150g (EAN 4013276160039)
  • Ostsee Fisch Räuchermatjesfilet, 150g (EAN 4013276160046)
  • Rügen Fisch Räuchermatjesfilet, 250g (EAN 4012839620256)
  • Saßnitz Fisch Edler Matjes Nordischer Art, 300g (EAN 4013710740032)

  • Saßnitz Fisch Rauch Matjes Nordischer Art, 250g (EAN 4013710760092)

The best-before dates for these fish products are between October 23, 2025 and November 27, 2025. Here too, the recall is cause for concern as bacterial contamination is suspected. Consumers are advised to return affected products to stores; the purchase price will be refunded without a receipt.

Staying healthy despite food insecurity

It is important to take health seriously. Pregnant women, older people and people with weakened immune systems should be particularly careful. The symptoms of a listeria infection can cause serious illness and should not be ignored.

During these uncertain times, it is crucial that consumers are well informed. Therefore, check your purchases regularly and stay informed about recalls to avoid possible health risks.
