Fascination for the whole family: The Little Prince celebrates its premiere in Stendal!

On November 8, 2025, the Altmark Theater in Stendal celebrated the premiere of the family play “The Little Prince”. The piece is based on the famous work by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and impresses with its touching production. Patricia Hachtel directs and, together with Kerstin Slawek, has developed a stage version that appeals to the audience both emotionally and makes them think. Lukas Franke shines in the lead role as the little prince and is accompanied by a talented ensemble. Barbara Weiß and Tilo Werner take on several roles, including that of Rose, businesswoman, lamplighter, snake, fox, king, pilot, drunkard and geographer. The emotional songs, including a melody by Levente Gulyás, contribute to the mood of the piece, as Volksstimme reports.

The production focuses on friendship and responsibility and quotes the fox's moving words: "You are responsible throughout your life for what you have made familiar." This message gained great popularity; the audience responded with frenetic applause, testifying to the emotional impact the performance left.

A look behind the scenes

The creative team around Patricia Hachtel has shown a good knack for bringing the timeless story of the little prince into a gripping stage version. The three roses, spoken by Patricia Hachtel, Tara Oestreich and Amelie Maria Scheckert, give the piece a special touch and also create a connection to the themes of love and loss.

The production is not just intended for children - adults can also find themselves in the complex characters and deep themes. Theater's ability to convey important life lessons in such an accessible way makes The Little Prince an experience that resonates long after the performance.

The premiere was a complete success and the performances will continue to be very popular. Theatergoers shouldn't miss this opportunity to experience the magic of Saint-Exupéry's work on stage.
