Autumn holiday fun: The best adventures for families in Stendal!
The autumn holidays in Saxony-Anhalt will begin in a few days, more precisely from October 13th, and the Stendal district has lots of exciting activities and events for families and children. Whether kite flying, fairytale festivals or exciting museum tours – there is something for everyone.
On October 11th, for example, the kite festival is celebrated in Havelberg. From 2 p.m., kite fans big and small can fly their colorful aerial vehicles over the Havel meadows. Anyone who brings their own dragon creation can even win prizes! Physical well-being and entertainment are provided for the little ones with a pirate party, coffee and cake and a bouncy castle.
Cultural highlights
A very special attraction is the Prignitz Museum in Havelberg, which invites you to explore the city through multimedia. The special exhibition “…born in Havelberg”, which presents the works of regional painters, runs here until November 23rd. For children, there are tailor-made tours adapted to the needs of the youngest visitors, such as making bishop's hats or Christmas lights. Some offers can be booked for just €1.00. The Havelberg City Museum also offers exciting tours through the monastery complex and the upper monastery rooms. Registrations are possible by calling 039387 21422.
A fairy tale festival will take place in the Altmark Theater in Stendal on October 12th with the motto “Space”, inspired by “The Little Prince”. Here the children can look forward to a free program that ranges from a fairytale café to black light theater and face painting.
A day in the countryside
For nature enthusiasts, it is worth visiting the zoo in Stendal on October 13th and 15th, where insights behind the scenes are offered. Visitors can explore the alpaca enclosure on a tour. Children can take part in a special guided tour, which costs an additional 1 euro.
The high ropes course at the MAD Club in Stendal, which is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., offers sporting activities. Here children and young people can climb and let off steam without registering. There are also exciting programs in the “Mitte” youth leisure center – from “Fitness for Witches and Ghosts” to a Halloween party on October 24th.
For the cinephiles among us
Cinema fans shouldn't miss the MAX children's film festival in the Moritzhof cultural center in Magdeburg, which takes place from October 12th to 26th.
