The summer holidays are over, and the events calendar of the Katharinenkirche music forum in Stendal is in full swing. From September 3rd, the Cologne Chamber Philharmonic will take the stage with Vivaldi's “Four Seasons” and Mozart's Clarinet Concerto. Music lovers can rejoice – the program offers plenty of variety and first-class performances.

Things will continue to be exciting in October: On October 12th, the “HengstmannBrüder” will take the audience on a humorous journey with their program “We always have to laugh”. For fans of swing and jazz, the band Caracou will play on October 25th and present their refreshing repertoire.

A full program until the end of the year

November continues the series of good events. On November 5th, the pianists Andreas Güstel and Julian Eilenberger will show what they can do musically with their “Be-winged Tour 2025”. On November 22nd, all Bruce Springsteen fans can look forward to the band “Thunder Road” performing the rock icon’s best hits. And if you're looking for a laugh out loud on November 29th, comedian Tatjana Meissner has come to the right place; Their program “The Sack is Closed” will certainly provide many cheerful moments.

The Christmas spirit will arise on December 3rd with Ronny Weiland, who will present Christmas carols. And on St. Nicholas Day, December 6th, the Duo Tupiano – consisting of tuba and piano – will provide festive sounds. In keeping with tradition, the Stendal brass band Stendalia will also be performing their Christmas concert on December 7th. The crowning conclusion of the musical year is the Christmas concert by the Saxony-Anhalt State Police Orchestra on December 11th, followed by a special evening with Björn Casapietra on December 20th.

Cultural highlights in the Altmärkisches Museum

But it's not just the music forum that has a lot to offer - the Altmärkisches Museum also promises exciting experiences. Anyone interested can visit the exhibition “Abc Shooters and Sugar Bags” until September 28th. On October 9th there will also be a lecture on the topic of “80 years of the end of the war in the Altmark”, before a conference on the topic of “Roland through the ages” on November 8th. And don't forget: On November 16th, the artist Dietmar Werner will exhibit his works in the museum.

The museum also participates in the sticker fever and has stickers on sale during its opening hours. Tickets for all events are available in the Altmärkisches Museum, in the tourist information office and online - certainly a good way to secure a place at the many highlights.
