Speeders on Osterburg's streets: Several drivers caught without a license!
Traffic offenders have been causing a stir in the Osterburg area lately. On September 9, 2025, at around 6:03 p.m., a 37-year-old man was caught driving an Opel and a trailer on Ballerstedter Strasse - but without the corresponding driving license. The police didn't have to hesitate for long: he was banned from continuing his journey and criminal proceedings were initiated. The vehicle keys were then handed over to an authorized person so that the vehicle did not remain on the road. Magdeburg-Klickt reports that...
Just a few hours later, at 9:40 p.m., there was another incident in Osterburg OT Erxleben on the B 189. Here a 21-year-old driver was stopped in a Mazda without a license plate. She also didn't have a driver's license and was driving without insurance. Her vehicle was seized and criminal proceedings were also initiated against her. It seems as if the topic of driving without a valid driving license is currently very popular, and this usually has unpleasant consequences. According to the ADAC, driving without a valid license can be a criminal offense that can be punished with heavy fines or even imprisonment for up to one year. Find out more about the risks here...
Risks and consequences
But the problems don't stop there. Another incident, which also took place in the early hours of September 10th, involved a 35-year-old woman in Stendal. She was driving an e-scooter that had an expired insurance license plate. She was also banned from continuing her journey and is now facing criminal proceedings.
On the same day, a serious traffic accident also occurred on the L30/BAB 14. A 65-year-old driver of a tractor-trailer and a 43-year-old Honda driver collided, with the driver of the Honda having to be taken to hospital with serious injuries. The police determined that the tractor-trailer had ignored the right of way. The fire brigade and oil rescue service were called to the scene of the accident to clean up leaking operating fluids. An unfortunate incident that shows how dangerous things can quickly become on the roads and how important it is to follow traffic rules.
The issue of driving without a license has not only legal but also personal consequences. For example, anyone who still makes the roads unsafe after a driving ban or the revocation of their driving license is acting with full awareness of the possible consequences. Penalties vary depending on intent, negligence and previous convictions. In addition, in the event of an accident, there is a risk of recourse claims from motor vehicle liability insurance, which can put a considerable strain on the financial situation. So if you want to reach your destination safely, you shouldn't ignore the laws and regulations.
