The city of Wittenberg can once again look forward to a remarkable award. How mz.de reports, Wittenberg was certified for its exemplary use of green spaces and received the “Natural City Green” label. This makes the city one of the pioneers in the area of natural green space maintenance.
The recertification took place recently, and the city didn't miss a beat. Wittenberg first received its original award in 2019. This year, the Alliance of Municipalities for Ecological Diversity found significant improvements in five categories, which led to an increase in its rating.
Excellent commitment in numerous areas
Wittenberg can be particularly proud of the progress in lawn and meadow care as well as in gardening, which has now been raised to the “silver” level. The city has even reached the gold level in other disciplines such as participation and cooperation, public relations and communication as well as land-use planning.
