Bad Rodach is defeated by Chemnitz: strong performance goes unrewarded!
In an exciting duel in the 3rd Bundesliga Women South, TSV 1860 Bad Rodach suffered a narrow defeat against BSC Rapid Chemnitz on October 27, 2025. The encounter, which took place in the Gerold Strobel Hall, captivated 95 spectators. Despite a strong fighting performance, Bad Rodach was unable to turn things around and the game ended 4:6 for Chemnitz.
The guests from Chemnitz, who have been active at national level since 2009 and have been playing in the third division for a decade, were able to use their experience in crucial moments. Bad Rodach's coach, Norbert Thumser, praised the team's performance, pointing to the painful loss of Sophie Schirm, who was missing from the team in such critical situations.
Fighting spirit in the doubles
In the first doubles, Anastasiia Solodenko and Svenja Schirm suffered a 3-0 defeat against Edina Toth and Sophie Schädlich. But in the second doubles, Veronika Andriushchenko and Polina Pashchenko showed what they were made of and won confidently 3-0 against Emilija Riliskyte and Lara Neubert. After the first individual round the score was evenly tied at 3:3.
The course of the individual games
The individual matches were fiercely contested. Andriushchenko gave Bad Rodach the lead with a 3-1 win against Riliskyte, while Pashchenko lost 1-3 to Toth. Solodenko had an exciting match with Schädlich and won 3:1 before Schirm lost to Neubert 1:3. In the second round Andriushchenko could not survive against Toth and lost 1:3. The team came under pressure when Pashchenko and Schirm also lost, making the final games crucial.
Solodenko finally got a point for Bad Rodach by defeating Neubert 3-2, but the final score of 4-6 was already sealed as Schirm lost again 0-3 to Schädlich.
After this intense weekend of games, Bad Rodach will take a two-week break before facing TSV Dachau II on November 9, 2025. Hopefully the players will return from this break strengthened and master the next challenges.
Despite the defeat, the mood is confident. Bad Rodach can look back on a passionate performance based on a solid foundation of team spirit. Fans can look forward to the upcoming games!
