Three new trauma clinics in Saxony: Fast help for those affected!

There have been three new trauma clinics in Saxony since the beginning of the year, meaning the region now has a total of nine facilities for adults and four trauma clinics specifically for children and young people. These additional contact points are located in Arnsdorf (Bautzen district), Altscherbitz near Leipzig and in the Klinik am Waldschlößchen in Dresden. Zeit reports that the operation of these outpatient locations is crucial for supporting people after experiences of violence.

Health Minister Petra Köpping emphasizes the importance of quick help in acute crisis situations. The new trauma clinics not only offer immediate advice and therapeutic care for those affected, but also support for relatives and survivors. This creates low-threshold access to psychological help, which is particularly important for victims of violent crimes, as the Saxony Police has highlighted.

Details of the new trauma clinics

The locations of the new trauma clinics are summarized here:

  • Arnsdorf (Landkreis Bautzen): eine weitere wichtige Anlaufstelle für traumatisierte Menschen.
  • Altscherbitz bei Leipzig: zentral gelegen und leicht zugänglich.
  • Klinik am Waldschlößchen in Dresden: spezialisiert auf psychotherapeutische Versorgung.

There are two important locations in the capital of Dresden. The Mental Health Trauma Clinic at the University Hospital Dresden treats adults who have experienced violence and can be reached on 0351 41726750. There is a special trauma clinic for children and young people in the Dresden Municipal Clinic, which also offers appropriate help.

This outpatient clinic for children and young people is best reached under the direction of Mr. OA Andreas Lachnit. In addition, those affected who are treated under the Social Compensation Law (SER) receive quick support and feedback within 48 hours, which is an immense relief for many.

A comprehensive support network

The nationwide establishment of trauma clinics in Saxony is part of a larger network to support people who suffer from the consequences of trauma. Qualified psychotherapists are available to ensure quick and comprehensive medical and psychological help. These measures are not only limited to therapy, but also include medication and emergency preparedness in order to be able to provide immediate help in acute situations, as explained on the Saxony Police website.

The first trauma clinic in Saxony was opened eleven years ago and has since supported many people in need. The newly opened facilities show that the demand for such offers remains high. A good hand in planning and implementing these outpatient clinics can change lives and give those affected the chance to find new hope.

If you or someone you know is in a difficult situation or needs support, do not be afraid to take advantage of the trauma clinics in Saxony. The help is there and waiting to be used.
