A massive traffic accident on Monday, September 22, 2025 caused a stir in Dresden. There was a dramatic head-on collision between an Opel and a Volvo V60 on Radeberger Landstrasse, in the picturesque area of the Dresden Heath. While the 59-year-old driver of the Opel only suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital, the total damage to the vehicles is around 25,000 euros. The police report that the Opel driver was under the influence of alcohol at around 2.6 per mille at the time of the accident. As a result, he is being investigated for endangering road traffic, a blood sample was ordered and his driver's license was confiscated. But that wasn't the only incident that concerned the Dresden police that day. A 34-year-old woman who was driving a Skoda Kamiq also caused an accident. She also stated that she had consumed alcohol before her trip. Distraction from her cell phone caused her to veer off Radeburger Strasse and collided with a guardrail. Fortunately, she was only slightly injured. Here the damage was estimated at around 35,000 euros.
