Dynamo Dresden's Kofi Amoako: U21 star in training at RB Leipzig!
Kofi Amoako, the 20-year-old professional footballer from Dynamo Dresden, is currently causing a stir in the German football landscape. The talented midfielder was called up for the German U21 team at short notice. This preparation takes place in Leipzig, where the DFB team is optimally preparing for two important European Championship qualifiers.
The selection will play against Greece on Friday, October 8th at 6 p.m. in Jena. Shortly afterwards we will move on to Belfast, where the team will play against Northern Ireland on Tuesday at 5.30 p.m. Amoako was originally intended for the U20 team, which is preparing for an international trip to Portugal in Frankfurt/Main. It turns out that talented players like Amoako from the second division always come into the spotlight when they are in demand on the international stage.
Career of a talent
Amoako moved from VfL Wolfsburg to Dynamo Dresden in the summer of 2022 and has since quickly developed into a top performer in the regular team. He has already played seven games in the 2nd Bundesliga so far this season and has particularly impressed with his commitment and understanding of the game. He was previously loaned out to third division club VfL Osnabrück last season and was able to gain valuable experience there.
His path led him to Wolfsburg in 2019, where he made numerous appearances in the youth Bundesliga. He then signed his first professional contract in 2023. “Kofi has big plans in Leipzig and will give everything to secure a place in the team,” is how a Dynamo Dresden official describes his ambitions.
The training in Leipzig
It is interesting that the DFB team is on the premises of RB Leipzig trained instead of in the sports school of the Saxon Football Association. This decision underlines the importance of the training environment and the professionalism to be displayed before the upcoming games.
Football fans can be excited to see how this young player will perform in the next few days. Kofi Amoako brings a breath of fresh air to the U21s and gives hope for a successful European Championship qualification.
