Experience the wonders of science: Long Night in Dresden on June 20th!
On Friday, June 20, 2025, the city of Dresden once again invites you to the multi-faceted Long Night of Science a. From 5 p.m. to midnight, those interested can discover over 700 exciting program items organized by around 40 renowned institutions and universities. The Technical University of Dresden and the Fraunhofer Institute in particular rely on innovative formats to make science accessible to everyone.
The event is aimed at the entire population, with special offers for children and young people to ensure a colorful evening. The young explorers can experiment and research at various stations. A highlight is the journey of discovery of animal tracks Senckenberg Natural History Collections that inspires children interested in science.
Diverse offers for all age groups
The over 700 program items showcase science and technology as well as art and culture. This includes, among other things, lectures, experiments and all film events. The interactive experiments offered by the Faculty of Computer Science are particularly attractive for the youngest children, such as crafts and puzzles in the field of AI. The Leibnitz Institute's interactive science show also promises an entertaining and educational time.
Families also get their money's worth: The extensive, family-friendly program offers face painting and special reading lessons designed to encourage children1 to engage with science and research. The Dresden Science Community for future has also launched the JUNIORDOKTOR program, which enables children and young people to go on a journey of discovery and not just watch, but actively experiment.
Arrival and further information
A particularly practical highlight are the expanded transport connections of the Dresden public transport company, which use additional buses and trains until midnight to ensure that all visitors can travel safely to and from the city. So nothing stands in the way of your discovery tour.
Participation in this inspiring event is free of charge. The organizers, a network of Dresden universities, research institutions and companies, want to keep the enthusiasm for science, research and innovation high on this night too.
