Concert highlights in Dresden: Punk, folk and jazz await you!

An exciting music weekend is just around the corner! There are also exciting events in Dresden in September that will not only make the hearts of punk and rock fans beat faster. Highlights include the concert by the British punk rock group The Soap Girls and the festival The Sound of Bronkow.

Sisters Camille and Noemie Debray from Cape Town and their band The Soap Girls represent a fresh, energetic sound that combines garage riot punk with a strong message. Inspired by greats like Courtney Love and Brody Dalle, they really pack a punch in their performances. The concert will take place on Thursday, September 7th, 2025 at 8 p.m. at Beatpol in Altbriesnitz 2a, and every performance is a mix of catharsis and chaos. The Soap Girls' lyrics deal with themes such as freedom and self-empowerment, and their provocative outfits are often an expression of their radical authenticity.

A look at the festival “The Sound of Bronkow”

From September 12th to 14th, the Societaetstheater will be a meeting place for music lovers. The festival has established itself as a permanent institution in Dresden's event calendar and impresses with a colorful program of contemporary folk, singer-songwriter performances and Americana. Admission to the afternoon concerts is even free, which is sure to attract many families. In the evening, guests can experience performances by artists such as Tristan Brusch and Die Quittung in several theater halls.

Jazz & Acoustics – Further musical highlights

But that's not all! On Friday, September 12th, 2025, Sven Regener will be with his project Rainy Pappik bush take the stage at the SCHAUburg film theater. His return to the jazz trumpet promises a nice collaboration with Richard Pappik on drums and Ekkehard Busch on piano. Jazz classics and original compositions are the focus here and invite you to a relaxing evening.

Another highlight is the return of Max Gruber, better known as tribulation. On Tuesday, September 23rd, he will present his new album, which creates a very special atmosphere with acoustic sounds, piano, strings and brass.

For lovers of minimalist synthpop, the band offers Zoot Woman on Friday, September 26th, a concert at Beatpol. Their new album “Maxidrama” brings back the typical 80s vibe and promises a nostalgic evening with catchy melodies.

That's why September in Dresden is a month that really doesn't leave you bored. The music scene here has continued to develop over the years. The first signs of a lively punk culture, shaped by bands and labels, appeared here as early as the late 1970s. While the punk scene continues to develop from its origins in cities like Düsseldorf to new varieties, the unshakable energy of this style of music remains palpable.

Whether in the Beatpol or the Societaetstheater, the legacy of punk and the passion for music continue to be deeply anchored in the German scene. Fans can look forward to a fantastic music experience!
