What an exciting weekend for the Heusenstamm Rugby Club! On July 14, 2025, the team was able to prevail at the qualification tournament in Hanover and thus secured a place for the German Championships 2025, which will take place as part of the finals in Dresden. This fifth edition of the multi-sport event will be broadcast live on free TV and as a stream by ARD and ZDF and promises a lot of excitement for sports fans.

Heusenstamm got serious at the tournament in Hanover: With a point difference of +62, the team took first place in its group. The competition was strong as three teams had a record of two wins and one loss, but ultimately the difference in game points decided who could advance to the final. The final rankings were extremely close: DSV Hannover 78 followed in second place with +50, while TSV Victoria Linden landed in third place with -27.

The games in detail

Heusenstamm started the tournament brilliantly. In the first game, RSV Cologne was clearly beaten 38:5. In the following match against the hosts Hannover 78, Heusenstamm was defeated 10:17. But in the decisive third game they showed their strength and won confidently against TSV Victoria Linden with 36:0.

Particularly noteworthy is Moritz Kießling, who was the team's best point collector with 23 points and was named “Man of the Tournament”. His performance was crucial to the team's success and caused cheers among the fans.

Prospects for the 2025 finals

At the 2025 finals, Heusenstamm will have to take on strong opponents, including RG Heidelberg and SC Neuenheim. The tournament will take place in Dresden from July 31st to August 3rd, and the anticipation among fans and players is huge.
