A new railing has been installed and the lighting is also back in use. The ceremonial opening of the bridge will take place on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by the traditional miners' festival at the clubhouse.

The miners' festival promises a colorful program for visitors. In addition to free beer and a disco on Friday evening, an afternoon program is organized for Saturday from 2 p.m. Local clubs will provide entertainment with coffee, cake and ice cream. The challenges that bridge builders face are diverse: from a lack of personnel to inadequate planning to financial bottlenecks. The plans to increase funding for bridge renovations to 5.7 billion euros in 2026 are a first step, but the question remains whether this amount is enough to deal with the renovation backlog.
Overall, it shows that bridges not only create connections, but also represent a real need for action - both locally in Hagenwerder and in other regions of Germany.
