Serious accident in Görlitz: 80-year-old seriously injured after crash!
Today, November 10, 2025, Görlitz is in the shadow of a serious traffic accident as well as other important police operations that are shaping local events. Right at the beginning of the reporting, a serious traffic accident on the B 115 near Schöpstal comes into focus. A 70-year-old Mercedes driver wanted to turn and collided with an oncoming vehicle. The 80-year-old driver of the other car was seriously injured, which led to the federal highway being closed for three hours Saxon reported.
However, the police were not only out on the streets, but also made various arrests. A total of eight people were arrested in Görlitz and Krauschwitz who were wanted with an arrest warrant. These arrests occurred both on the highway and at the border crossings.
Burglary and vandalism
In addition, a break-in into a garage in Olbersdorf was recorded between November 10th and 11th, 2025. Unknown perpetrators stole mountain bikes and power tools with a total value of around 5,100 euros. There was also vandalism on Sunday night when unknown people sprayed an anti-constitutional symbol on a sidewalk and a wastebasket. The resulting material damage is estimated at around 200 euros.
Another incident occurred near S 126, where numerous roofing felt nails were discovered on the road on November 9th. This represents a dangerous interference with road traffic and creates additional risk for unwary road users.
Weapons law violations
The federal police were particularly active that day and filed criminal charges against four people: a 24-year-old Belarusian, a 42-year-old Romanian, a 34-year-old Pole and a 43-year-old German. These men are suspected of violating the gun law. When the 24-year-old and the 42- and 34-year-olds were checked, unmarked irritant spray devices and a prohibited telescopic baton were found, while the 43-year-old was caught importing a “Pyro Defender” that was considered to be similar to a firearm. These findings were made at a motorway checkpoint near Görlitz, like News.de reported.
Police are also looking at several other incidents, including traffic accidents and alcohol and drug-related driving violations. In the last few days alone, a number of drivers have been stopped for drunk driving. For example, a 36-year-old was caught with 2.1 per mille in Zittau and a 65-year-old with 0.52 per mille in Weißwasser.
In view of these events, it remains to be seen how the situation in Görlitz will develop. Police continue to investigate a variety of cases to ensure safety in the region.
